VIETNAMWORKS COLLABORATES WITH GOOGLE AND NIC TO ENHANCE THE CAPACITY AND CONNECTION OF EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR DIGITAL HUMAN RESOURCES IN VIETNAM.

In order to contribute to improving the quality of digital workforce in Vietnam, VietnamWorks has collaborated with Google and the National Innovation Center (NIC) to continue and expand the “Google Career Certificates – Phat trien nhan tai so program” through the “Empower Growth – Vietnam Digital Talents” campaign, which will connect workers who have participated and completed the training courses of the program with corresponding job opportunities currently being advertised on VietnamWorks.

The current situation of human resources: A shortage of high-quality workers is still a major challenge.

According to data from the National Committee on Digital Transformation released in August 2022, the estimated percentage of information technology (IT) workers in the total workforce of Vietnam is only 1% out of 51 million workers. In terms of quality, only about 30% of new graduates meet the practical job requirements. Statistics show that the demand for human resources in the technology sector has been increasing year by year, but the shortage of high-quality human resources is still a major challenge.

To contribute to enhancing the capacity of human resources related to digital technology, especially in the IT sector, and narrowing the gap between the quality of the workforce and the recruitment needs of businesses, VietnamWorks has joined forces with Google and the National Innovation Center (NIC) through the “Empower Growth – Vietnam Digital Talents” campaign to continue and expand the “Google Career Certificates – Phat trien nhan tai so program”. This partnership is also a continuation of VietnamWorks’ new mission “Empower Growth – Journey to Happy Career” announced last year, which aims to help workers acquire specialized skills and clear career orientation, leading to a “Journey to Happy Career” and becoming digital talents for the country.

VietnamWorks and Google aim to comprehensively cooperate in order to improve the quality of Vietnam’s digital workforce by leveraging the strengths of both parties in developing and implementing specialized knowledge and soft skill training programs, especially for workers in the technology and digital sectors.

Representatives of VietnamWorks and Google had an official meeting  in order to kick off the collaboration.

Initiative to enhance the quality of digital talents in Vietnam

As part of the “Empower Growth – Vietnam Digital Talents” campaign, VietnamWorks, in collaboration with Google and NIC, will sponsor 2,500 scholarships for online courses that enhance digital skills, designed and taught by reputable Google experts. The scholarships include the following 5 courses:

♦ Data Analysis

♦ UX Design

♦ Time Management

♦ IT Support

♦ Digital Marketing & E-Commerce

Not only final-year students, but also workers who are seeking job opportunities can register to participate in the program to enhance their skills and have the opportunity to access suitable job opportunities.

In addition to learning knowledge and skills from the courses of the “Google Career Certificates – Phat trien nhan tai so program”, in the “Empower Growth – Vietnam Digital Talents”project, learners also have the opportunity to participate in a series of activities organized by VietnamWorks, including:

♦ Organizing in-depth sharing sessions and career orientation workshops for learners to understand more about the industries related to the digital skills taught in the program. Especially, sharing about the market situation and demand for these skill groups from industry-leading experts with extensive experience from Navigos Group (VietnamWorks & Navigos Search).

♦ Equipping practical skills through training programs on writing CVs and interviews, creating opportunities for learners to experience real interviews with businesses. VietnamWorks experts will provide feedback and advice, helping learners build complete job application profiles and the necessary behavioral skills in interviews, thereby being ready to enter the job market right after completing the course.

♦ Connecting learners who have participated in and completed Google’s training courses with a range of reputable businesses in VietnamWorks’ network. In addition to internship and job opportunities, VietnamWorks also connects learners to visit and directly experience the professional working environment at companies. Through this, learners can access accurate information about their desired fields and job positions as well as exchange and listen to sharing from people working in real business environments.

Certificates of learners who complete the Google courses will be shown on their job profiles on the VietnamWorks.com website, helping learners make a good impression on employers and increase their chances of applying for desired jobs.

The program is expected to last until October and will conclude with a celebration event honoring the program graduates – a job fair organized by Google and NIC. At this event, graduates will have the opportunity to directly connect and exchange with companies participating in the program who are seeking to recruit new talents.

During the meeting, Mr. Gaku Echizenya – General Director of Navigos Group Vietnam stated:

“Recently, VietnamWorks has repositioned itself after two decades of operation, opening a new mission of “Empower Growth” with the desire to accompany, support and motivate workers to pursue a happy career journey, thereby promoting the sustainable development of businesses. This year, in the difficult economic market situation, along with the shortage of high-quality labor in the digital technology industry, we believe that this collaboration with two leading partners, Google and NIC, in the “Empower Growth – Vietnam Digital Talents”campaign will contribute to a positive change.”

Mr. Gaku Echizenya, CEO of Navigos Group shared at the launching ceremony of the campaign.

“The source of human resources is the core of innovation and creativity. In recent years, the National Center for Innovation and Creativity has always accompanied educational and training institutions, research institutes, units, organizations, and businesses within and outside the country to spread the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship. In 2022, the “Phat trien nhan tai so program” is launched and implemented in cooperation by NIC and Google Group to support the enhancement of digital labor capacity in Vietnam. Today, we are delighted that VietnamWorks has become a partner of the program, contributing to creating more job opportunities while enhancing the quality and competitiveness of human resources in Vietnam compared to other countries in the region and the world,” said Ms. Tan Anh, Head of Human Resources Development Department – National Center for Innovation and Creativity.

Ms. Tammy Phan, Marketing Director in charge of the Vietnam market at Google Asia-Pacific, shared: “Vietnam ranks first in the ranking of the fastest developing digital economy in Southeast Asia in 2022*. This is synonymous with the high demand for digital human resources in terms of both quantity and quality. The collaboration between VietnamWorks, Google, and NIC once again affirms our common mission to support the development of Vietnam’s digital economy through one of our efforts to improve digital human resources in Vietnam and connect quality job opportunities for workers.”
